He’s always been good at keeping track of everything. Liam notices Mason scribbling a bunch of notes down for his records. “Okay, let’s work on finding something you can hang on to and help ground you.” He says, smiling. “ Fine.” Josh hisses, standing up and impatiently waiting for Liam to continue. “No one is pitying anyone but how are you going to defend yourself and use your new abilities if you can’t control them?” Liam points out, giving Josh a pointed look. I’m perfectly fine figuring out things myself.” Josh sits up and glares at them, his shoulders shaking from the anger coming over him. Liam’s feeling terrible now and he’s wanting to go back and fix the way that he’s gone about this. Perhaps Liam should have considered the possibility that not everyone is going to be as social as him and his friends. “I have no friends.” Josh blankly states, hardening his eyes at Liam. Okay, what helps you make it through the day?” Liam questions, smiling encouragingly at Josh and his forlorn attitude. “Just forget it.” Josh falls backwards on the grass, miserable and tired. Any beloved books?” He stops himself from going on as Mason shakes his head at Liam’s sad attempt at humor. I mean, yeah no I don’t have one.” Josh sits down on the grass, silently pulling at the grass in dismay. “Okay, so I guess let’s try to find your anchor?” Liam hesitantly smiles, noticing the way Josh becomes confused and looks at Mason for help. He’s not really someone that’s good at providing gentle advice and direction. He hates to admit it but Theo might be right. Liam manages to drag Mason with him to help Josh the day before the game because he’s probably going to have to dig deep inside of himself to find the will to have the Scott-like-care as Theo so annoyingly put it.
